A free RSS and Podcast reader for
Win2000 & WinXP

RssMate Screenshot RSSMate, a free RSS and Podcast reader, has been designed for maximum simplicity and compactness.

Once loaded, an RSS icon will be displayed in the notification area of the Windows taskbar. This icon will be green when there aren't any unread channel items, but it'll change to red whenever new or modified items appear. Double clicking this icon will restore RSSMate so items can be reviewed.

Clicking any item's coloured dot will open the web link for that item in your default web browser. (Items with red dots are new.)

Items which contain Podcast audio or video links will also display a paper clip icon. Clicking this icon will download and play the linked audio or video file.

When RSSMate is docked on the desktop, it sits elegantly beside your preferred browser and consequently it's incredibly easy to move from one to the other. (Most RSS readers come with their own browser, but with RSSMate you have the freedom to choose your own browser.)

RSSMate can read all recognised RSS xml formats (RSS 0.90 through to RSS 2) and Atom formats (0.3 & 1.0).
